This little corner of the site will showcase models who are either in the industry or industry bound and would like to get some exposure. Any models who would like to get featured on this site please submit 3-5 (professional pics) and a bio about yourself. Diamonnique Lassiter
Say hello to Diamonnique Lassiter. This African-American with Native American (Cherokee) and Chinese descent has dreams of becoming a professional model, and by the looks of it, she’s well on her way!
Diamonnique Lassiter is an eighteen-year-old graduate of Arts High School. She currently attends Concorde School Of Hair Design, with her concentration being cosmetology, however her education doesn’t end there. After she receives her license she plans to attend college, majoring in Radio and Broadcasting. Growing up, one of her dreams was to become a professional model. As a child, it was a dream she wanted to pursue because she felt that ‘modeling’ could be a world that she could escape to, be considered beautiful, and admired for her individuality, as opposed to being teased for being tall, and skinny. However after time passed, she began to do research, building confidence within herself, where she developed a true passion for modeling. By her own words she embraces her bald image shattering the stereotype of what a model should look like. Diamonnique who’s been compared to the likes of Grace Jones has been modeling since the age of fifth teen. She’s graced many runways including BK Fashion Weekend in 2007. She also competes in pageants.
She currently holds the title as Miss Newark 2010 and will be competing on March 13th 2011 for the title of Miss Union County! She’s quoted as saying:
“I want to take the modeling scenes by storm, introduce them to something that isn’t normally accepted…Being bald, with a complexion that is not pale; makes it harder for me…it places me in a certain category..but I continue to stay optimistic in hopes of shattering the average ‘image’.”
When I was contacted by Diamonnique I immediately drew comparisons to 80′s model and actress Grace Jones. You almost forget she’s without hair looking at her stunning beauty. Her exotic look is illustrated through her various photos giving her that multi-dimensional range. Modeling has changed through the years and what I love the most about Diamonnique is she transcends what a model should look like. Let her be an illustration to young girls out there who may have insecurities about being bald, skinny, too tall, or dark. It’s not the photo’s or clothes that makes the model, it’s the attitude and model that defines the art!

Ramona ‘Mo-Delle’ Smith
Ramona “Mo-Delle” Smith is a Cleveland Ohio beauty whose aspirations excel outside of the modeling world. By the size of her resume you would think that modeling is her “side hustle” as she’s been involved in everything from poetry to being a professional speaker. The 23-year-old has been writing poems since age 10, modeling since the summer of 2009, acting since high school, and speaking professionally as a member of Toastmasters.
She decided to take up her interest in modeling after winning the Mz. LordLand 2009 competition. Since then she has done 7 local fashion shows in Cleveland including a mini fashion show for Kenny Crumpton’s (News Channel 8 ) birthday party, and the benefit fashion show for Haiti in Cleveland at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Ramona plans on furthering her career in the entertainment industry as a model, actress, Television personality, and poet. She took acting classes at the Karamu House in Cleveland Ohio. In July 2010 she decided to take her talents to the west coast and move to Los Angeles, CA. Her original poem ‘Positively Cleveland’ was featured on Channel 3’s morning show Good Company, in the Call & Post, and on R&B artist Tommy Johnsons Mixtape “The New Black”. Ramona was a featured poet in Harlem, New York at Gospel Uptown, at The Conga Room (Foxxhole) in downtown LA, at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown L.A, and in various shows in Cleveland and Akron Ohio. She is currently in the process of writing her first book, a self motivational book for women which is expected to release in spring 2011.
Ms. Smith describes the most important aspects of her goals and journey is “first” Persistence. She explains that “you will get rejected a million times but if you keep pushing and keep working hard that one ‘yes’ could change your life.” Confidence being second because if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will. An immediate follow-up is maintaining a Humble personality because as Ramona explains it, “people like people who like people, nobody wants to deal with an arrogant person, or a new comer who already thinks they’ve “made it”. Hard work is an asset to her stating “anything worth having is worth working for, easy come easy go.” Finally Fearlessness is a must have because as she gave details of her journey she provided insight telling us “…it took a lot of courage to move from Ohio to California by myself going against the grain against the “norm”, but I am not afraid of failure, I take risks and it has been very productive so far.” Her ultimate goal is to be an international professional speaker and NY Times best-selling author. She wants to encourage the world with her words, uplift as many people as possible, while obtaining financial freedom. At her pace don’t see how any of her goals are unreachable!
EBONY BYAS
Her name is Ebony Byas and she is the new teen sensation hitting the modeling world. At just 17-years-old she has a modeling resume which can rival most professionals. While most girls her age are talking on the phone, dating, and going to the mall, Ebony puts Education first while traveling the world and RIPPING THE RUNWAY!
The Jersey City resident (who originates from Bronx, NY) attended The Bronx Guild H.S. She has goals of becoming a New York City Corrections Officer (if you can believe that) with the intentions of pursuing Criminal Justice while in college. Although enjoying the art of dance and singing, Ms. Byas pursues a modeling career in her spare time. That time is utilized efficiently as she has participated in various runway events, photo shoots, and famed Fashion Shows such as:

Rock The Runway (Jan)
Her journey consists of an internship with the clothing line Enyce, The New York Botanical Gardens, even landing a guest appearance on MTV‘s My Super Sweet Sixteen -Tiana Taylor episode. While continuing to pursue her passion for modeling she has stated that she wants to be a role model for other youths.

Say hello to Crystal Dickson. This 21-year-old Bronx bred model has been doing her thing for three years. The pics are self-explanatory as she can easily grace the pages of any magazine published. But to think modeling is her only thing would be putting her in a box, and this girl is no ONE TRICK PONY!
Working Hard
Crystal wears many hats both through her experience and professional life. She’s done make up and hair for photo shoots, worked in a beauty salon, interned at Bad Boy Entertainment, and taught runway for fashion shows. Wearing the hat of a Model, Designer, and Runway Coach: Crystal also aspires to be an Actress, and Stylist as well. Having a thing for fashion, she’s proven that she can work in front of and behind the camera.
Having the beauty and the experience can take you a long way in this industry, but it’s your drive which will make you successful and Ms. Dickson knows the meaning being quoted as saying “I’m a very talented young lady, and ready to make moves. Anything I put my mind to I can do. I’m hard-working, out going, and love to learn new things. I’M READY TO SHOW THIS WORLD WHAT I GOT!”

I had the pleasure of modeling in a few shows with Ramona Mo-delle Smith and she is one of the most dynamic and talented models I have seen and worked with.
