Apple Reveals iOS 6 & Updates At WWDC

Anytime Apple debuts any new product the world impatiently holds their breaths. Although there was no news on the iPhone 5 or next generation iPad, there was enough information to keep Apple users happy!
The WWDC Apple’s (World Wide Developers Conference) is one of the company’s most highly anticipated events. It’s where Apple either debuts products or information in regards to their products. This year although there was no new information on next-gen products, there was enough updates to keep users happy.
THE iOS 6
First up is Apple’s new iOS 6 the software that Apple runs off of. The next generation will include 200 new features like 3D maps, deep Facebook integration, and upgrades to Siri.
According to TechCrunch, Maps will also offer a crowd-sourced traffic feature to help users avoid construction and accidents on their routes. Facebook will also have a more intimate relationship with iOS 6. Users will be able to share content directly to Facebook from Apple’s photo and map apps; Facebook event and contact info will also be synched with the calendar app. You can also “Like” things in the app store and see what apps your Facebook friends have liked.
The introduction of iOS 6 will bring with it an app call “Passbook,” which lets you store and redeem plane and train tickets, movie and concert passes, coupons and cash cards for retailers like Starbucks. Other new iOS features include a screening options for the Phone app, so you can turn on a “do not disturb” function, decline calls and reply with a text instead or set a callback reminder; an improved Mail app; a revamped Safari app; FaceTime over cellular networks (the current FaceTime app allows calls over WiFi only).
There’s also a “Lost Mode,” which Engadget describes thus: ”Send a phone number and it’ll show a notification on the screen. If anyone finds it they’ll tap [the notice], [and] it’ll dial that number automatically.” The iOS will be available Fall of 2012
SIRI UPDATES

Siri will also get a bunch of upgrades. Although she revolutionized the way we use our smart phones, she wasn’t without flaws. The newer version will correct the confusion most users experienced. It will even be installed in vehicles.
Siri has learned a bunch of new languages (Cantonese, Korean, among others) and will now work on the iPad. She can also tweet for you, post Facebook updates, open your apps, make dinner reservations, find movie times and reviews, give you turn-by-turn travel directions and more. For the first time, Siri will even be available on the iPad.
THE MACBOOK PRO
The Macbook Pro will be getting a facelift. The new model is a lighter version at 0.71 inches thick with a 220-pixels-per-inch resolution. It also boasts a brand new retina display with a resolution of 2,880 by 1,800. This is a big deal because this type of resolution has never been seen on a laptop before. The highest previously was a Window laptop screen that had 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, the equivalent of HDTV.
The new model will start at $2,199 and be ready to ship by June 11th.
With all these goodies, Apple has insured that users get a better experience from their products. However many loyal customers are still awaiting news of their next-gen iPhone & iPad models.
