April Fools: Google Pranks Users With 8 Bit Nintendo Map

For anyone who salivated at the idea of getting their hands on an 8-bit Nintendo version of Google Maps, think again! That’s because for April Fools Day the search engine GIANT decided to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes!

It was all a Hoax but done in good fun. Google went all out when they introduced what many thought to believe an actual 8 bit concept. The program digitally remasters their pre-existing Google Map feature which many users can use as we speak.
To access go to GoogleMaps then select [Try It Now] in the bottom left box or [Quest] in the top right-handed corner. The map is instantly changed to an 8 bit version. You can even see “Street View” in a digitized environment. Although I have to admit it hurts the eyes after a few minutes.
Google went all out hiring Japanese actors for the campaign posing as developers. Most should’ve figured it out seeing many of us don’t own an operating NES system.
At any rate, it is fun to see them tinker with their active map, but how many of you were really fooled?
