Miami Rapper “Rick Ross” Keeps His Name Thanks To A Judge

They say imitation is the highest form of flattering, but the former drug kingpin “Freeway Ricky Ross” can’t be too thrilled the Miami rapper earned the right to keep his name!
Thanks to an L.A. County Superior Court judge, “Freeway Ricky Ross” born Ricky Donnell Ross has lost his bid to keep the street name he’s earned hustling along the Freeway of California.

On June 18th, 2010 Donnell Ross sued Rick Ross (the Rapper) born William L. Roberts for using his name without permission. Rick, who’s currently the BIGGEST rapper in Hip-Hop (in every sense of the word) used the name in comparison with his drug laced rap lyrics.
The judge ruled today that Donnell had no case and threw the lawsuit out. I’m not an expert in copyright or trademark laws, but would it be wise for future drug dealers to begin franchising their names or would that be self-incrimination?
