2 New Reasons To Own A PS3

The console war is heating up and Sony Playstation just up’d the ante to keep pace. If you don’t already own one, I’ll give you two good reasons to invest!

The holidays are right around the corner and Sony is pulling out all the stops to keep up with Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Announced this week, Sony announced that it has slashed the price of its gaming console to $249 bucks! Both 160GB and 320GB consoles will retail at the new price. There’s also a $299 bundle pack that includes inFAMOUS2 plus a 30-day membership to Playstation Plus.

Reason #2:

Announced today, DirecTv will bring its NFL Sunday Ticket subscription to the PS3. This is a BIG DEAL seeing that the package was exclusive to DirecTv customers. Subscribers will have access up to 14 NFL games each Sunday. You can view games in full HD and access DirecTV’s Red Zone Channel for replays and recaps.

The new feature doesn’t come without a HEAVY price tag. PS3 owners who don’t have DirecTv will have to shell out $339.95 for the season! For some that may be a small price to pay for cable users like myself who are unable to get the dish. The good thing is it doesn’t require a satellite hook up.

It’s been a bad year for Sony as the Playstation fell behind Micosoft’s Xbox. In July alone the 360 console 145,000 units more than its competitor. Not to mention the network problems and the hack situation customers had to deal with a few months ago.

It appears that Sony has responded with an impressive showing at this year’s E3 including the new additions. The console war continues. As the PS3 approaches its fifth year anniversary November 11th, it refuses to go down without a fight!
