Verizon’s iPhone 4 May Suffer “Death Grip”

With the release of the iPhone less than 24 hours away, it appears Verizon customers may be dealing with a familiar issue AT&T knows all to well!
There’s a metal band that surrounds the iPhone 4 which serves as the devices antennae. In June, AT&T subscribers witnessed a phenomenon known as “The Death Grip” which occurred when you held your phone in a particular way. As a result, carriers of the phone suffered numerous dropped calls due to the flaw.
Well it appears that Verizon is dealing with the same issue as a video has been released exploiting the technical difficulty. When in “landscape mode” the phone appears to suffer the same problem, but you do need to have a tight grip on the device in order for this to happen. Unless you’re having an intense conversation, I don’t foresee this being an issue.
Apple offers protective bumpers for their phones to reduce the problem, but somehow those things remind me of the ugly bumpers people put on the back of their cars.
