The Infinity Gauntlet: A Future Marvel Movie!?!

Comic book fans may be VERY familiar with this piece of hardware! Marvel‘s MOST POWERFUL WEAPON worn by the MOST POWERFUL VILLAIN could make a cameo in a future Marvel movie. The BIGGER question; IS MARVEL WORKING ON A MOVIE FOR THE INFINITY GAUNTLET!?!

It was only a few month ago at San Deigo’s Comic-Con that the infamous glove made its real life debut. Just the display alone aroused comic enthusiasts and had Marvel fans radiant at the thought of Marvel making this series into a movie. Just the concept alone is EPIC! Regarded as one of the BEST MARVEL SERIES EVER, bringing this classic to the big screen will not only TRUMP every Marvel film that existed before it, but it will require an enormous cast due to the amount of superheroes.

Before we get into the details, lets discuss the origins of the series (for my non comic enthusiasts). The Infinity Gauntlet is powered by the Infinity Gems: Space, Mind, Soul, Reality, Time, and Power. Possession of all six gems pretty much makes you God. Thanos was brought to life after his Mistress Death felt that there was an imbalance in the universe (too much life, not enough death), so she summoned the villain from the grave to do her evil bidding.

After wiping out half of the population in the entire universe (YES I SAID UNIVERSE), Thanos set forth to do what Death had intended. However, drunk with power, Death shunned the villain and he stopped at nothing to please her. Just to get a concept of how powerful he was, he killed a population and banished beings to other dimensions just by a mere thought. So the important question is how will Marvel capture all of this in a film?

The first thing you need to know is before Marvel can go forward with an Infinity Gauntlet movie, more characters have to be introduced. This year alone, Marvel will introduce Thor and “The First Avenger” Captain America. In 2012, The Avenger movie makes its debut which could set the stage for this epic movie. In the summer of 2010, Marvel re-released the Infinity Guantlet series starring The Avengers, so that could be a possible movie plot.

Marvel is tight lipped about an Infinity Gauntlet movie, however there is confirmation that the glove could make an appearance in any of the three Marvel films. If I had to take a guess, it would be 2012′s The Avenger movie. I would also like to dispel any rumors of Thanos making an appearance in The Avengers because it would be too early. The Infinity Gauntlet would have to stand alone and (in my opinion) would have to be a two part movie if they wanted to capture the story.

So what have we learned from this article? The Infinity Gauntlet glove will make a cameo in a Marvel film in the near future (so be sure to stay until the end of the credits). It will take 3-4 years (my prediction) before we see this thing come to the big screen. Well worth the cover price!
