WESLEY SNIPES TO SERVE 3 YEAR PRISON TERM!!!
So Friday (Nov. 19th) actor Wesley Snipes surrendered to jail to serve his 3 year prison term for tax evasion! Snipes 48, was a popular actor during the 90′s in such films as New Jack City, Money Train, and White Men Can’t Jump. However despite all his popularity, Snipes had an issue paying taxes because he was convicted of not paying $15 million dollars in returns for the past ten years. Although there was no exact amount acknowledged by prosecutors, it was believed that Snipes had been sending his money overseas.
In February, Snipes was convicted of three misdemeanors and acquitted on the felony charges of tax fraud and conspiracy. In July the federal court upheld that decision and was sentenced to serve a three-year prison term. Despite the acquittal of the felony charges, Snipes attorney felt the three-year prison term was excessive for a misdemeanor. One thing I learned about this country is, no matter who you are,
