Call him “Professor Swizzy” because Hip-Hop producer and husband to Alicia Keys Swizz Beatz will be teaching at New York University (NYU) and it will be immediate! Swizz born Kasseem Dean started out as Ruff Ryder‘s resident beat maker in the late 90’s. Producing tracks for everyone in the business including HEAVY WEIGHTS like Lil Wayne, Beyonce, and Jay-Z, the multi-talented artist will be a resident at NYU’s Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at the Tisch School of the Arts.
This is a milestone for both the producer and Hip-Hop seeing Swizzy is NYU’s first music producer and rapper to be teaching there. The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music provides professional business and artistic training toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The South Bronx native has come a long way and capitalized on the opportunities provided for him. Now I can’t help but to wonder if there’s a waiting list to take this course or not!
