T.I.’s WIFE TAMEKA (TINY) COTTLE CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF ECSTASY!!!
So as we previously reported, Atlanta rapper T.I. will not face additional charges for drug possession in his September arrest (Read Full Story Here) but that doesn’t mean wifey’s off the hook! According to media website TMZ.com, the LA County District Attorney has charged Tameka “Tiny” Cottle with the possession of the drug ecstasy. It’s only a couple of days before Tip is to serve his 11 month prison sentence and if Tiny is convicted, could face up to a year behind bars. There has also been rumors (among close friends and relatives) of who will have custody of the children while the couple serves time.

SINGER MARIAH CAREY (FINALLY) CONFIRMS PREGNANCY WITH HUSBAND NICK CANNON!!!
So Pop singer Mariah Carey FINALLY let the “Cat Out of the Bag” by OFFICIALLY confirming her pregnancy with husband Nick Cannon during an Access Hollywood interview. As stated in the video, Mariah was forced to come forward after a performance at NYC’s Lincoln Center which was to promote her upcoming Christmas CD. (Read Full Story Here) Not wanting to go into too much details, Mariah did give a time line on when the baby will be arriving which is due around Spring of 2011. Also giving details of a past miscarriage.
In the past few months, Mariah really didn’t leave much to the imagination, making it easy (via public appearances) for people to speculate that she was pregnant. Look, I understand the couple wanting their privacy and all of that, but you can’t keep a secret like this when your doubling in dress sizes and putting on more weight than Rick Ross at the Waffle House!
Celebrities have to understand that when you choose to become famous, parts of your private lives are given up! Besides, I don’t see what the BIG deal was anyway! If you’re in a happy marriage you should be more than excited to share the news! Not like you can hide a pregnancy for 9 months anyway!

GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE JIMMY MCMILLAN TO BECOME AN ACTION FIGURE!!!
Governor hopeful Jimmy McMillan of the “Rent is To Damn High” party may not win his bid as the Governor of New York but after winning the hearts of New Yorker’s, he has earned himself an action figure! The Charismatic candidate was an over night celebrity capturing the attention of millions with his catch phrase “The Rent is too DAMN high!”
The self-proclaimed “Karate Expert” will have a miniature replica of himself manufactured by Herobuilders.com, a Connecticut company that plans to sell the doll at $50 bucks.
Many people felt that this years Gubernatorial Debate held at Hofstra University was a circus and with McMillan being the ring leader, most chalked his campaign as no more than a publicity stunt. DIDDY DEBUTS DIRTY MONEY VIDEO: LOVING YOU NO MORE!!!
So today Diddy debuted the Dirty Money video Loving You No More featuring Young Money representative Drizzy Drake on BET’s 106 & Park. After OFFICIALLY announcing the date of the album Last Train to Paris which will be in stores 12/14/10, the Media Mogul wasted no time putting the video out to one of the HOTTEST singles off the highly anticipated album. Now you know we like to keep it 100% at DABXBLOGGER and I have to say the video gets a :So So Hand Motion: on this one!
Listening to the song about 100,000x since it was released, I felt it was the perfect opportunity to illustrate the lyrics within the song. But once again, another video that FAILED to tell a story! Instead we were treated to various Ciroc clips, shots of Diddy Beats headphones where at certain points it felt like a commercial instead of a video. Also, everyone seems to be a BIT to artsy in the videos these days! Random model shots and diving backwards in a pool screams DOUCHEBAG to me! #I’M JUST SAYING

ATLANTA RAPPER T.I. CHANGES THE NAME OF NEW ALBUM TO NO MERCY!!!
Atlanta rapper T.I. is scheduled to serve his prison sentence next week but that hasn’t stopped his GRAND HUSTLE! With no specific date on when the album will be released, what we do know is there will be a new title for the album . During an appearance on the Ricky Smiley Show on Oct 25th, Tip announced the name change from King Uncaged to No Mercy. During the show he stated that he would like the album to come out before his November 1st sentence and working on some videos for the project.
One of the tracks expected to make the album is a collaboration with R&B singer Chris Brown titled Get Back Up. Having his own convictions as well, I’m sure the singer could relate to T.I.’s situation and already established a relationship after working on this summers flick Takers. The song is a revelation to T.I. recent troubles, arrests, and lash out against the media for criticism during his troubled times. Citing numerous times on the track “I’m only human” he acknowledges his faults and his imperfections giving fair warning to those who critique him. He even had a testimony at the end of the song stating:

IT’S PACMANIA AS MIDDLE WEIGHT CHAMPION MANNY PACQUIAO ARRIVES AT LAX!!!
It was PAC MANIA this weekend as Middle Weight Champion Manny Pacquiao arrived at Los Angeles airport LAX to a MOB of fans! The fighter arrived at the airport with famed trainer Freddie Roach to prepare for his November 13th fight at Cowboys Stadium against Antonio Margarito. For those who may not know, Margarito is coming off a one year ban for using “concrete wraps” in his fight vs. Shane Mosley in 2009.Pacquiao will be completing his training camp at Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club, in Hollywood, California through November 8, before breaking camp and heading to Arlington, Texas for fight week.
It’s no secret that Pac-Man is both the World and People’s Champ (as illustrated in the video) as fans STILL anticipate the fight of the century between himself and Mayweather. I can’t tell you how bad I want to see this fight happen and I hope whoever is preventing this from happening GET OFF THEIR BULLSHIT and give the fans what they want!!!

BOTH T.I. & LA LAKERS FORWARD MATT BARNES FACE NO CHARGES IN RECENT ARRESTS!!!
Looks like a few (NOT SO GOOD) men are getting a break! Media website TMZ.com is reporting that the LA County District Attorney will be rejecting T.I.‘s drug case stemming from his September arrest. For those out of the loop, Tip and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were arrested for the possession of a controlled substance in LA. Law enforcement officials are citing significant legal issues which led to T.I.’s arrest. In particular the fact that cops claimed to have smelled marijuana but none being booked for evidence. Already facing an 11 month prison term, Mr. Harris got a break as the D.A.’s office doesn’t feel it’s necessary to go forward with any charges seeing he’s already doing time for the violation of his parole. It’s good to see something positive come out of this case and hopefully after his sentencing, he can put all of this behind him.
MATT BARNES WILL NOT FACE CHARGES IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE
Former Orlando Magic and current LA Lakers forward Matt Barnes will not be charged for an alleged domestic violence charge against his VH1 Basketball Wife Gloria Govan. The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office has determined there is not enough evidence to prosecute Barnes for allegedly assaulting his fiancée at their home on September 8th. The whole incident manifested when police responded to a disconnected 911 call and upon arrival, arrested Barnes on suspicion of battery after witnessing visible bruising on both Barnes and Govan.
Gloria publicly stated that the allegations were false and her fiancée has never harmed her or the family. The D.A. also stated “The decision was made following additional investigation, and was based on the insufficiency of the evidence.” What’s strange to me is there had to be a probable cause for the original arrest and visible bruising usually warrants an arrest. At any rate, if its strong enough for the DA to dismiss, then it can’t be true right?

POP SINGER KATY PERRY & RIHANNA ARE STILL BFF’s AFTER WEDDING NO SHOW!!!
So pop singer Katy Perry and UK Comedian Russell Brand tied the knot this weekend in a traditional Hindu wedding. The wedding (which was located in India) was said to have some of Perry’s closest friends and family (minus) the attendance of Rihanna. According to sources close to the wedding, Rihanna was suppose to be a part of her bachelorette party which took place in Las Vegas, but couldn’t attend because she was required to be in the studio. Perry reportedly had no hard feelings over RiRi’s absence and the two are still “stuck like glue”.
Which makes me wonder; How important is this album, track, or whatever it was that made you miss your best friends wedding? I’m beginning to think a trip to India was just a little too far for RiRi this weekend. #IMJUSTSAYING

Taped for a segment on his You Tube channel LILMCKELLtv the actor/comedian was in full swag mode as he struck up a conversation with the Pop Princess. Although staged by Cuppcake’s manager and McKell’s accomplice KritiKal, his smooth lines and irresistible charm was anything but.

MARIAH CAREY’S LISTENING PARTY AT NYC LINCOLN CENTER WITH A NOTICABLE BUMP!!!
So for those who were wondering, if there was any doubt about whether Pop singer Mariah Carey was expecting or not, the proof is in the pudding or in this case, THE BLUE DRESS!!! Attended by NYC’s Power 105.1 Malikha Mallette, Mariah held a listening session (Oct. 20th) for her new Christmas CD “Merry Christmas II You” at New York City’s Lincoln Center. Available for purchase November 2nd (just in time for the holidays) the event was presented by Island Def Jam Chairman Antonio “LA” Reid. But the BIGGER story here (literally) was the extra baggage around the pop singer’s waist! At this point you would think the publicist, label, or couple would say
“HEY GUYS, WE’RE EXPECTING!”

JAY-Z’s TOP PRODUCER YOUNG GURU BREAKS DOWN THE ART OF THE INDUSTRY!!!
For those who may not know who Young Guru is, if you’ve enjoyed Roc-A-Fella hits such as Run This Town, Empire State of Mind, Dirt of Your Shoulder, and many other hits, Gimel “Young Guru” Keaton is the Engineer & Mixer behind the Roc-A-Fella/Rocnation brand. With over a decade of industry experience under his belt and responsible for more hits than Pete Rose, Guru has more than enough experience on the inner workings of the business. In a revealing sit down for the movement magazine, he enlightened listeners as he served as the guest speaker providing insight from an artist perspective. There were a few things I found intriguing when he began his talk stating
“The corporate system doesn’t owe me anything…” going on to say “I don’t have love for that corporation, that corporation doesn’t have love for me.”
It’s that mentality which makes an artist of today better off and in some cases why we don’t see TRUE Hip-Hop artists like Lupe Fiasco, Nas, or Jay Electronica progress within this industry. He understood the concept and explains the corporation as a machine drawing comparison to slave masters at one point! ALARMING BUT TRUE!!! He even states that labels are worse off than they were 10 years ago, controlling every aspect of artists earning from Shows, Apparel, to Ring-tones!
THIS IS A MUST WATCH especially for those who have aspirations of being an artist in this industry. The smart one’s know and have always said, INDEPENDENT IS THE WAY TO GO! Check it out and let me hear your feedback guys! I’d love to hear it!

NBA BANS ITS FIRST PAIR OF SHOES!!!
Take a look at the first shoe to be banned by the National Basketball Association (NBA)! The unnamed shoe made by Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL) are vertical-influencing basketball shoes. What that basically means is, the footwear allows you to have more of a vertical leap. With a hefty price tag of $300 bucks, the shoes have been banned by the league cited as giving the players and “unfair competitive advantage”. In the following press release the NBA stated the following:
For the first time in its 64-year history, the National Basketball Association (NBA) has banned a new line of shoes based on the league’s rule against an “unfair competitive advantage” that increases a player’s vertical leap. The league’s ban on Athletic Propulsion Labs’ Concept 1 confirms the company’s claims that the shoe, with its Load ‘N LaunchTM Technology, performs as advertised. No professional player will be allowed to wear the product in games for the upcoming 2010-2011 NBA season.
This action comes on the 25th anniversary of the NBA’s ban on Nike’s Air Jordan shoes, albeit for reasons of their colorful appearance rather than any performance advantage.
Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL) was notified by a senior NBA official who stated, “League rules regulate the footwear that players may wear during an NBA game. Under league rules, players may not wear any shoe during a game ‘that creates an undue competitive advantage (e.g., to increase a player’s vertical leap).’ In light of that rule…players will not be permitted to wear the APL shoes during NBA games.”
What I wonder is, what is the technology behind these shoes? Are there gas bubbles that react to the right amount of pressure and catapults you further when you jump? Also, why do the NBA athletes need this? Have the manufacturers NOT seen the NBA Slam Dunk Competition for the past 3 years and seen 5’10 Boston Celtic Nate Robinson catching major air? It may be banned from being used in an NBA game, but I think it will be interesting to see these things tested out in future Slam Dunk Competitions.

RAPPER KANYE WEST BLASTS LA TIMES WRITER CHRIS LEE FOR BAD RUNAWAY REVIEW!!!
So as we reported in the previous story (Read Here), rapper Kanye West attended a screening for his upcoming short film “Runaway” which is set to air simultaneously on MTV, BET, and VH1 (Oct. 23rd) at 8pm. Although Mr. West is no stranger to harsh criticism, the review by LA Times writer Chris Lee was enough to send Kanye on a rant as he vented on his Twitter account. Before deleting his Tweets he accused the writer as being so bent on giving a “soulless description of my work” that he omitted the word “Beautiful” from the title of his album. KANYE WEST TALKS SUICIDE, ELTON JOHN COLLABORATION, NEW VIDEO PREMIERE!!!
It was during a Los Angeles screening for his upcoming 35 minute video Runaway (Oct. 18th) that rapper Kanye West had been the MOST intimate he’s been in some time with the media. He stated to the Associated Press that he had thoughts of ending his life at on point.
“There were times that I contemplated suicide,” Mr. West told theater goers on Monday, before adding, “I will not give up on life again.”
“There’s so many people that will never get the chance to have their voice heard,” he continued. “I do it for them.”
Many who followed his career may speculate that this derived from the passing of his mother which troubled him deeply. Whatever the cause of his revelation, it wasn’t the only breaking news that night. He also revealed that the next single off his upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will be a track titled All of the Lights. An unfinished version of the song has recently been leaked, but the final version will include vocals from Elton John, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Fergie, John Legend, The-Dream, Ryan Leslie and Kid Cudi. I’m beginning to wonder how long this song is?
With the new album slated to hit stores November 22nd, he is also premiering his video Runaway (which is a short film) on BET, MTV, and VH1 this Saturday (Oct. 23rd) at 8pm. Kanye will also be involved in a live question and answer formatted interview available online and via television. Talk about promotion huh? There’s no question that Kanye is going all out and with the short film featuring Supermodel, The Apprentice reality star, and former Nick Cannon fiancee Selita Ebanks and Narration by Nicki Minaj, you know this premier will be a BIG FUCKING DEAL!!!

SUPERMODEL TYRA BANKS FEARS ANOTHER MENTALLY UNSTABLE STALKER!!!
So I know you’ve probably heard the line “That girl so fine, make you want to stalk her!” Well Supermodel Tyra Banks is no exception to the rule! Media website TMZ is reporting that Ms. Banks is scared to death of a “mentally unstable celebrity stalker” who has allegedly bragged about killing “George Bush Jr.” — and now she’s asking a judge for protection. The stalker in question is a 39-year-old man by the name of Marten Williams Jr. He’s accused of stalking Tyra and her family since 2006 and get this, already believes he’s killed George Bush Jr. and that Michael Jackson is alive in Long Beach! Sure, and he’s popping bottles in the club with Tupac Shakur!
It’s obvious that Tyra is in fear for her life, family, and friends as she mentioned in a statement. She has sought and successfully been granted a temporary restraining order which will require Mr. Williams to stay at least 100 yards away from her and her family. The restraining order is valid until Oct. 28th of this year where at that point it will be decided if it will become permanent. Tyra is no stranger to stalkers as Brady Green was convicted in 2009 for stalking the Supermodel. What was peculiar in that case was, despite the conviction, the Defendant was required to spend no time in jail. By the prosecutors suggestion, he was to be relocated when they stated “Put Mr. Green in a location where he can thrive,” adding “And that is not likely to be the city of New York.”
You know when you have 2 different stalkers each year, your either ONE BAD B*TCH or you need to up the budget for security. I mean if Floyd Mayweather can walk around with 5 body guards for all the shit he talks, why not have a few for when you walk? All I have to say is be careful out there Tyra, we already had multiple break in’s at the Hilton home, don’t want you to have to bust a cap in someone’s ass!

FORMER ROC-A-FELLA RECORDS CEO KAREEM ‘BIGGS’ BURKE ARRESTED IN MARIJUANA BUST!!!
The man responsible behind launching Jay-Z‘s career Kareem “Biggs” Burke was arrested Friday (Oct. 15th) in a drug ring which was a major distributor of marijuana in New York City. The operation was dubbed “Green Venom” and Burke along with 42 others were implicated in the operation through intercepted phone conversations. According to federal sources, Geovanny (Manny) Rodriguez Perez discussed “potential marijuana suppliers” in California. This was in response to a bust in South Florida where Mr. Perez had been receiving his current supply.
Burke, who was the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella records along with Jay-Z and Dame Dash was spotted in the Inwood section of Manhattan taking a bag full of “narcotic proceeds” out of Perez’s car and placing it in the trunk of his BMW. If convicted, members of the ring could face 10 years to life for conspiracy to distribute 1,000 kilos of marijuana. According to Jim Hayes special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, he noted that “This isn’t just a group that controlled one block, one neighborhood,” continuing with “They dominated the wholesale marijuana market in New York for 20 years.”
When this information came out, this made me speculate. If it’s true that they’ve been controlling the marijuana market in NYC for the past 20 years and Burke had been an associate, was start-up money used to fund Roc-A-Fella in its early days? Lets not forget it was only a few years ago Irv Gotti and his brother were involved in a big Federal Investigation which they were later acquitted of. Not only are the Hip-Hop police keeping an eye on artists, but Law Enforcement in general. Which includes the Feds as well! There seems to be a low tolerance for drug and gun laws here in New York City and for those in the industry, they may want to watch the company they keep especially if they’re involved in criminal enterprises.
